Development on a new Need for Speed title has reportedly halted, following a series of layoffs at developer Ghost Games.

And unannounced Need For Speed 'put on hold' as those remaining are 'offered work on Battlefield'.
The site claims that EA dismissed the studio's contractors last week and told full-time employees that "they could either take compensation and leave" or support development on a "police-themed" Battlefield title allegedly in the works at Visceral.
It isn't known how many people have been affected or whether the title's suspension will disrupt the scheduling of this year's Need For Speed.
Ghost Games UK is mainly comprised of former Criterion employees, and was formed after the studio splintered during the development of Need For Speed: Rivals.
